Canadian invasion completed. I'm back home now, still have plenty of unpacking and tidying to do. Brief summary is that much fun was had by all; I got to visit all sorts of interesting new places, and Dawg got to pee on them. The peeing bit is terribly important to dogs. Many photos were taken, both film and digital; I'll likely see to putting some of the better ones up once I've sorted them and beaten them into more respectable sizes.
Amongst the email awaiting my return was the news that my father had been diagnosed with a malignant tumor on one kidney, 2.5" in diameter. He went into surgery this morning, and while typing this entry I got the update that his growth had partially invaded his spleen as well, though it wound up only needing stitches rather than complete removal. After surgery his blood pressure dropped to ludicrously low, so they've moved him from the recovery room to intensive care. He was originally projected to be back home by Friday, but may be delayed because of this. Personnel at the hospital started asking my mother questions about power of attorney, and if he'd voiced any preferences about being put on life support. This has all left her in less than the highest of spirits, so I'll likely be going over to have dinner at their place. Photo tinkering will be put off for a little bit, accordingly.
