Another half-baked entry

The song always faintly annoyed me. I always figured my dislike was due to its cheesy "Save tha childrun!" schtick and never thought much more about it, but today it came randomly to mind while I was in my meditation chamber. Granted, the Iron Curtain was still up back then and relatively little was really known about the Russian people, but the whole sentiment expressed is a great confusion between views expressed and enacted by politicians, and the views held by citizens. Sting committed the same error against the Russians as anyone who currently judges the American (or any other) people by their leaders, current or otherwise.

At that point I flushed and this train of thought ended.

But on a lighter note, I do like the song 'cause Sting snagged "Lieutenant Kijé" for the music!

Hrmm... or maybe I should just try and listen to "Lieutenant Kijé" instead.

And yes... I also know a lot of people that make the very same mistake that you point out Sting making. But then again, y'know... it's easier to catagorise people if you believe they all act the same.
