misfoksThe first one in particular I admit was a poor quote, but I love the movie and most anything else from it was either way too bland or a dead giveaway. And perhaps using a short for #7 was a little sneaky. All revealed behind the curtain...

14. Yet another Points nabbed first. Bubba Ho-Tep "President Johnson's dead." "Shit, that ain't gonna stop him!"
15. Hardware "Whoa, wow, what was that?" "There's a droid running crazy in my lounge." "Ah. That's OK, we can go to my place."
I'm pretty surprised nobody recognized #8. I'm almost as surprised #14 was one of the most recognized. Points and Jen, do you two hang out or something? :)

Date: 2005-01-29 10:54 pm (UTC)Though I'm disappointed that I didn't get The Cabinet of Dr Caligari... but then I don't remember seeing very many "text-panels" in that movie at all. Of course, that was 13 years ago, too... so I guess some things could slip over time.
I will not express my embarrassment of missing the Bubba Ho-Tep one, especially after I specifically sought out the movie after your visit!

Date: 2005-01-30 08:15 am (UTC)There were just a few things in Fight Club that really didn't click for me... specifically the beating-myself-up-in-the-parking-lot bit. It made sense when the two guys came out of the bar and saw the two main characters pounding on each other. But when we saw the revised bit where it was actually only the one guy and he's tossing himself around the parking lot like he's being beaten up... yeah, most certainly I'd want to join his club!
I'm gonna slink back to my Vonnegut cave, methinks!
