Smoosh!

Crumple zones in action.

Normally there's a bit more room under the hood.

Hmm, seems like something's missing. Like, the airbag? Guess it was off duty that day. Can also sorta make out the odometer. 75k original miles after 14 years. Ah well, it was well taken care of 'til then.
I'll skip the photos showing blood spray from the other car, though it does show up nicely on my truck's white paint. Silly teens, not wearing seatbelts (don't worry, they were conscious and walking last I saw).
EDIT: For anyone who cares, the other driver was found at fault and their insurance covered my totaled vehicle without hassle. Insurance also covered the medical, apparently nothing worse than a broken wrist and general sprains. Oddly enough they left me with the carcass rather than salvaging it so I donated it to a local pet rescue through DonateACar.com. I miss the versatility of a truck, but my new car gets me around, and more economically to boot.

Should I ask for the whole story?

Date: 2007-02-23 12:27 am (UTC)I haven't gotten the final police report or insurance estimate yet, but my side of it is that some teens were too probably busy babbling to watch properly for oncoming traffic before making a left turn, the oncoming traffic being me. And I'm pretty sure it's gonna be considered totalled. The other car had lovely face-shaped breaks in the windshield.
